House T2 in Ansião of 143 m²
About this house/villa of 2 bedrooms at Ansião, Ansião
This traditional stone house located in the village of Albarrol just a few minutes from the centre of Ansiao is waiting for someone to come along and transform it into a fabulous home. Many of the properties in this popular village have already been beautifully renovated by their owners and there are some wonderful examples of what can be done with these old traditional stone houses.
The reason that this place is so special is because the house sits on almost 6000 sqm of land that has 28 Olive trees, several oaks, and other native trees. There are many fruit trees including several fig, peach, and citrus, as well as a small vineyard. The terrain is good for cultivation, has healthy nutrient rich soil and is supported by the well which has abundant water and a water tank. Time should be taken to explore the various areas as there are more secluded spots as well as places where you can see out across the village to beyond. The land is easily accessible from the road and there are also a couple of stone buildings that were used for animals in the past.
The previous owner had a vision for this house and plans have been passed by the authorities for an extension to achieve a single-storey house with two bedrooms and swimming pool looking out across the land at the back of the house.
New owners could carry on with this project or they could just renovate the house themselves, as it is, with its original footprint. Either way, it will make a fantastic family home, second home, or even a rental for investment or tourism.
Currently, there is a living room, kitchen, bathroom, two bedrooms, and several storage rooms in the property. There is mains water and electricity.
The architect envisaged two bedrooms, the master with an ensuite, a family bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen/dining living space with doors leading out to the patio, pool, and outside dining and entertainment areas. If needed and with a slight change to the plans, it would also be possible to put in a staircase and use the roof space for a third bedroom.
Ansiao, with all its amenities, is a 20-minute walk down the local track or a 5-minute car journey away. Here you can find everything you need for daily life including the local market, supermarkets, banks, shops, cafes, and bars. If you enjoy the outdoors there are lots of activities close by. The property is situated on the Pilgrims route to Fatima so walking is extremely popular as is swimming in the nearby river beaches.
The city of Coimbra, the original capital of Portugal is 40 minutes away as is Tomar, the city of the Knights of the Templars. The vast and beautiful coastline is also within easy reach. The airports of Lisbon and Porto are both around a 1-hour 40-minute drive and from the nearby train station at Pombal there are good rail links to all areas.
All in all, this is a property with huge potential in an up-and-coming little village and must be viewed to appreciate the possibilities here.
